Atlantic City authorities have confirmed the identity of the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday night, marking yet another tragic instance of gun violence in the city. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office announced Saturday that 40-year-old Robert Stanley Davis of Atlantic City was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head outside the Shore Park Apartments. At approximately 8:53 p.m. on Thursday evening, Atlantic City police responded to a 911 call reporting a man lying motionless on the sidewalk near 225 North Virginia Avenue. The address is just a short distance—roughly half a mile—from the bustling Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
